How did I start to weave kilims?
I graduate from the Warsaw University of Arts (I am interior designer by profession). We moved from Warsaw and we live in the country (north - east Poland). Some 10 years ago you could see the loom in almost every farmer house. Every older woman in the village knew how to weave. Now, there are only few who remember. At our home we also have some 100 years old kilims that remember our grand, grand mothers time. I was always fascinated by them. I could not imagine that those masterpieces of art have been made by hands. I decided to learn weaving as I could have the master yet. Once I tried, I cannot stop.

The kilims that I design and weave are the traditional reed Polish kilims on flax warp and on woollen weft. My designs link the traditional and contemporary patterns.
The wool for kilims is hand dyed with dyes of natural origin and with the acid dyes.
Only few of my kilims are woven with hand-spun wool.

I was born and lived in Warsaw (excluding few intervals when I lived in Mexico and in France. After I graduated from interior design department at Warsaw Art Academy, I decided to move in the Suwałki region in eastern - north Poland.
I've been designing and weaving kilims since 1998. I can spin the wool, I can dye it, I can prepare yarn.

I had exhibits of my works in London Hali Fair in 2002.
In September 2003, together with other Polish artists I was invited to the East - West Festival in Die (France).
I had exhibits of my kilims at the gallery "Opera" in Zamek Ujazdowski in Warsaw (Poland).
